Hi Everyone,
Having recently attended both the Country Fair and the Montpelier Fiber Festival, I'm now convinced that I'm a festival addict. With that in mind, I was very disappointed to learn that the Sedalia Center does not/not have a fiber festival planned for Spring 2008.
My sock sister, Linda, and I were talking last night and decided that we would get in touch with the folks at Sedalia and ask them to reconsider the festival. With that in mind and if you have a few minutes to spare, please click the Sedalia link and send them a message expressing your interest too.
Linda and I are volunteering our services to organize, assist in organizing or simply to do whatever needs to be done to get the festival back on Sedalia's calendar. Will you help us? Please click the "Contact Us" link at Sedalia and let them know that the fiber festival is important to you too. Thank you so much!

UPDATE
I spoke this morning with Sedalia and this could happen for us. In the meantime, I've created a mailing (vendor) list of every yarn store, fiberist & alpaca farm I could find in a three hour radius. If you know of someone who might be interested in being a vendor, please e-mail me at clansoltan@aol.com and if I don't already have them, I'll add them to the list.
(And yes, Nana Sadie Rose is on the list; I would love to see her bags in person and they are fiber-related)!

Hmmmm, I'm thinking they could combine the Celtic and the Fibre fests together... you know, men in kilts, wool, yarn, fibre, knitting, spinning, men in kilts... sounds like a win/win deal to me... yes, I AM just sayin' (albeit seriously sayin') :^)
Oh sure... so you're going add 'Queen of Festivals' to your (wonderfully long) list of 'Queen Of'? (ducking and running as fast as I can...heeeeeeeee)
DONE!! I hope we can save this event!
You'd better 'duck & run' Marianne! Should the festival happen and Carodan comes, I'm going to send some of their yarn flying at your head! LOL & XOXOX
(Of course, it's so wooly & beautiful, it won't hurt).
Oh yeah? well..... just give it your best shot!
mwwahhh!
am I gonna have to "sit" between you two? No throwing wool at each other's heads... ('sides which. I may catch it and claim "finders keepers! :) )
going to click now... (with my other fingers crossed...)
but I have to say I kinda like the idea of a Celtic Fiber Festival.. mmmmm
I was saddened to learn that this event may not happen. Was it Sedalia's decision or the organizers?
I emailed and I will be happy to offer some assistance, although I am a bit away.
I also sent in my 2 cents worth of sadness over this..it will probably have as much weight with those guys as it does most other places...haha~~Dana, count me in for help also..provided life has resumed normalcy..wait..define that..hugs
Good Luck, Dana! You can never have (or attend) too many fiber festivals!

What's the latest status on this? Not knowing of your campaign I had emailed them separately about a month ago, about the event. Here's hoping they'll bring it back....
Mosaic yarn shop from Blacksburg would be interested in being a vendor! :)
